Trademarks/ Renewal

According to Iranian trademark law, all registered trademarks should be renewed every other 10 year. This period begins from application date.

• According to the respective Law there is a six-month grace period with no fine for those trademarks, which are not renewed in time. This legal respite is not extendable at any rate.

• According to the procedures, applicant may apply for renewal of trademarks not sooner than six months before renewal date   

• Registration and Renewal of those trademarks, which contain class 33 or those, which are in contradiction to Islamic principles are legally prohibited.

 Necessary Documents for Renewal of Trademarks:

• Power of attorney duly executed notarized and legalized by the Iranian Consulate.

• A recto verso photocopy of Farsi Registration Certificate or Renewal Certificate (If any).

• At least 10 specimen of the trademark (If any).
