Annuity Payment
According to the Iranian Law, patents are granted for a maximum of 20 years. Annuities should be paid annually and since the first annuity is paid at the time of filing, annuity payment begins from second year and ends to 20. Payments should be made on/or before filing date
Grace Period:
Legislator has allowed 6 month grace period for delayed payments, this period is divided by two 3 months, there is no fine, if the payment is made for a maximum of 3 months after renewal date and a 100% fine will apply for payments which are made after the first 3 months. The patent will completely lapse, if the relevant taxes are not paid during the said respite.
Necessary Documents for Annuity Payment:
If our office has been responsible for the payment, of previous annuity your mere instruction is enough and we do not need any documents, otherwise we need the following documents for payment
Power of Attorney dully executed, notarized and legalized by the Iranian Consulate,
A photocopy of last payment receipt (both Farsi and English translation are preferred).
